Code I Saw Today: The City of Jens and Table Use

That’s simply too great. Consider the actual homepage of the Swiss city Jens (no, I don’t mean the splash screen), ignore everything you see there that’s related to web development anyway (okay, you may notice the title), and just focus on tables. Gotcha, they’re everywhere. And now please ask yourself if you could use tables for something on that page.
Indeed, and the only element that actually is a table on a page that consists of tables is marked up with line breaks and no-break-spaces:
Zahlen und Statistiken
Einwohnerzahl 650
Fläche 456 ha
Steuerfuss 2,03 (Gesamtsteueranlage Kanton/Gemeinde 5,09)
Liegenschaftssteuer 1,0 o/oo
Budget ca. Fr. 2'500'000.--
This is the kind of humor I like while I’m in “sensitive criticism” mode.

They just tried not to use tables – because they heard you don’t use them in modern webdesign *g*
Another interesting point is “News”: If you don’t want to copy a news, just place an image of it
