Bremen

A litte late, but: Since August 10, I’m a “Bremer.” Bremen is a mostly beautiful harbor town in Northern Germany, and with about 550,000 residents it’s not too small either. Almost more importantly, Bremen is the home of Germany’s top and my favorite football club Werder Bremen. At the moment, Werder is one of Europe’s 16 best football teams and for me, this means Champions League on site.

Figure: Bremen’s city center with Roland.

A downside: Beside questionable highway systems (oneways everywhere) Bremen means a bit of criminality (it hit us already: some fellows broke into my car in February, and others broke a window pane of my girlfriend’s car about two weeks ago). Anyway.

I like to thank for a nice welcome: in particular Arne Kriedemann and the local news site citybeat.de which greeted me welcome with a small news entry.

Last but not least, how come that the Techniques for WCAG 2.0 do refer to the “Bremen Town Musicians” in an xml:lang example… a coincidence?

The Bremen Town Musicians.

Figure: We made it into the WCAG Techniques.
