This post completes the trilogy of recent ”auxiliary” posts with Christmas and 2007/2008 entries, at the same time meaning the most important one of them: Thank you for your feedback and support during the first 365 days of this blog!
So before getting too sentimental and in order to get back to work – you certainly neither want nor deserve a website full of side notes –, here are a few numbers and trivia of this site, just this once 
- The first year of this weblog meant 143 posts, 696 comments, and 50,754 spam attempts.
- Comparing rather traffic-poor months December 2006 (no weblog) with December 2007 (weblog for almost a year), visits of meiert.com more than doubled (from 32,401 to 80,808 per these months), though the development of the German part certainly supported this increase.
- 64 % of current visitors come from Germany, 8 % from the United States, 6 % from Austria, 4 % from Switzerland, and about 3 % from the United Kingdom.
- The “average visitor” visits 2.87 pages, 63 % of them staying for more than 1 minute – just a note, not an interpretation.
- The overall and truly most popular documents in December 2007 (not counting home pages, feeds, and comment previews) were
- The document “not found” most often has been “/css/webdesign”, a mistake apparently triggered by the short URL propagated in my book, http://meiert.com/cssdesign. My fault anyway, I recently optimized the error pages in order to improve findability of the book microsite.
- “akira” is one of the most popular keywords that leads people to this site, and they find the “Nirvana”, an otherwise barely discoverable place where I once left a few things and put notes concerning stuff of former versions of my site.
